And here is gorgeous Martha, who was as fast as a bullet at her 2nd session! Fortunately, I am used to that so we managed to get some lovely shots, and in contrast to session one she was full of smiles, I especially love her expression in the shot on the green background - aaahhhh...

I have had some lovely newborn sessions lately, sneak previews to follow soon. One from this week is the beautiful Megan. Photographing newborns is just great. Each session is so different, and they can last anything form 45 minutes up to 3 hours. There is a lot feeding, soothing, nappy changes, winding, cleaning up any accidents and generally a lot of patience is needed. Many parents ask me for best tips for a successful newborn session - here they are!
1. Bring your baby along as early as possible - days 4-6 are best
2. Bring a vest ( the studio will be hot hot hot)
3. Feed your little one before the session so they arrive sleepy and full
4. Try not to bring siblings and keep people present at shoot to the minimum
5. Come as early in the morning as you can so we have nice light
6. Relax and trust me - I have handled plenty of babies and know exactly what I am doing!
And if you do that, assuming your baba is in the mood we can get some fab images. I aim to get at least 3 to 4 "signature images" from a newborn session. Although you see approximately 40 proofs , there will always those few that really stand out. And remember - props are optional! We can keep it all natural if you prefer. My studio is stocked full of cute hats and blankets, so the choice is yours.
Here are a few images form Megan's session. The first is my current favorite!

Elsa is a very special baby, and her mummy and daddy are thankful that she is healthy and well, as her first days were not exactly a walk in the park. She has grown into a lovely little baby girl, and you can really see how precious she is to her family. Here is a little sneak peek from the session.

Kay Howard:
What lovely pictures, thanks for letting me see them.

Ok just catching up on more sneak previews! On Monday I had 2 lovely studio sessions. A one off session with Lucy , and a 2nd beginnings session with Lili and Lukas. I want to know what is it with all the L's at the moment? I have photographed a Lila, Lola, Lily, Lucia, Lucy, Lili and Lukas in the last week alone! Is this a new trend? I love all those names by the way, but this is kinda spooky....Also, twins! Max & Harry, Lili & Lukas, Oscar and Bella, next week Hannah & Matilda. I really want to know what is everyone having in their tea please! I really enjoy photographing twins, although more challenging, it's very rewarding to get a great capture. I am yet to photograph newborn twins ( like less than 7 days old) and would love to. Anyone know anyone expecting twins? Or triplets - now that would be fun! Anyway, I am being rather talkative here, so without further ado...

Here is a selection of some of the gorgeous children , families and couples I have shot in the last couple of weeks ( between catching up, renovating the studio, shooting weddings and being mummy!) but haven't had a chance to post the sneak previews...so here is a small selection - enjoy.
A family shoot with 2 great boys , Thomas and Daniel and their newborn baby sister Lily. I was so pleased to get that shot of the boys holding her and their expressions, of tenderness and pride...very sweet.

A new addition to the beginnings scheme, the beautiful Lola Grace - check out those baby blues!
Lila's last Beginnings session happened in the studio so we could involve her lovely new baby brother.
Oscar & Bella - the adorable twins
A maternity shoot for the gorgeous Gisele & James. Looking forward to the newborn session guys!
