This morning I had a session with the lovely Ethan with mummy and daddy. He did really well although he did make us work a little - Ethan did a great trick of smiling, then frowning as soon as the camera was on him! It's definitely not unusual, so mummy set about getting those smiles whilst I waited to catch those lovely moments. Here are a couple of favorites from the session -

Beautiful preview Maria. Aman is very handsome!! Well done Khush & Shelly - Can't wait to see the rest...
(02.05.10 @ 09:52 AM)

(01.30.10 @ 08:11 PM)

These are so beautiful. He is such a cutie
(11.28.09 @ 07:27 PM)Oh these just make me smile and smile. What wonderful photos, Maria. Nate is such a little showman (where does he get that from?!) - I think he looks just lovely. Can we come back every month?
(11.29.09 @ 10:15 PM)Awesome photos. He is such a natural in front of the camera. Very cute.
(11.30.09 @ 08:15 AM)Your photographs are inspirational. A real talent!
(03.03.10 @ 10:11 PM)
Maria, I love these. I love the green with her hair! and I love the tutu!
(11.28.09 @ 07:26 PM)Martha you look like a proper little ballerina.....love them xxx
(11.29.09 @ 01:57 PM)To think I came on to see Nate and what a wonderful surprise to see his little friend Martha up here as well. MIss Goldlocks - what a star! She is picture perfect in these. I can see we are going to have to get her a tutu of her own...
(11.29.09 @ 09:41 PM)1. Bring your baby along as early as possible - days 4-6 are best
2. Bring a vest ( the studio will be hot hot hot)
3. Feed your little one before the session so they arrive sleepy and full
4. Try not to bring siblings and keep people present at shoot to the minimum
5. Come as early in the morning as you can so we have nice light
6. Relax and trust me - I have handled plenty of babies and know exactly what I am doing!
And if you do that, assuming your baba is in the mood we can get some fab images. I aim to get at least 3 to 4 "signature images" from a newborn session. Although you see approximately 40 proofs , there will always those few that really stand out. And remember - props are optional! We can keep it all natural if you prefer. My studio is stocked full of cute hats and blankets, so the choice is yours.
Here are a few images form Megan's session. The first is my current favorite!

lovely Lucy
and the blue eyed wonders, Lili and Lukas

they are beautiful cant wait to see the rest
(11.09.09 @ 06:41 PM)This morning I had a lovely session with Edward, mummy, daddy and bump. Edward was a little serious to begin with but soon launched into some great smiles ( especially when I wasn't taking his picture, the cheeky monkey!) . Edwards took a few steps on his own too so no doubt he will be running around really soon. With a new addition to the family due in January I am sure mummy will be kept very busy! A sneak preview as always...

Love the family photo with the expectant new arrival :-) I'm sure they were delighted with these pictures.
(11.03.09 @ 01:35 PM)

As usual the preview looks wonderful and can't wait to see the proofs of my little nephew and Co!
(10.22.09 @ 08:33 PM)Hi, Thank you for your blog. Happy Christmas. I like the blog. Nice family.
(12.24.09 @ 10:54 AM)

This is seriously cute! x
(10.08.09 @ 07:17 AM)Every time I see these pictures of Jude it brings a tear to my eye. You captured his beauty and newborness perfectly. Thank you so much Maria for these timeless and precious pictures of our special little boy. Emma & Stewart
(04.07.10 @ 08:24 PM)

Thank you so much Maria! We love them, they are fab! Alyssa looks very cheeky in the one on her own - I love it! Mum pointed out that she is pointing her foot too!! Do you think she will be a ballet dancer like her mum? X
(10.07.09 @ 08:59 AM)

Thanks for yesterday Maria, we really enjoyed the session, and I think the above photos are definitely proof of that! Brilliant, thankyou. x
(09.09.09 @ 03:03 PM)

Wow he's gorgeous Rachel and Mark! And a lovely happy family pic too.
(08.15.09 @ 10:17 PM)

thank you, Maria - we all really enjoyed the session with you and these shots are great. It's so nice that you've captured Hugh's smile in the close-up of him. We look forward to seeing all of them.
(08.11.09 @ 07:59 PM)Oh my goodness!! What a beautiful family!! Maria you have captured Anthony & Co. perfectly!! Hugh & Sophia are stunning.
(08.12.09 @ 10:07 AM)My first session upon my return was the gorgeous Maria, a lovely newborn, just 3 weeks old. However, as her due date was today she is still a newborn size, and ever so lovely. Content all the way through the session, it was a great shoot to come back to - I really enjoyed it. Mummy & daddy, I hope you like these - thanks for your patience!

These are incredible, and so beautiful. You've really captured our precious little girl, her personality and little expressions, esp the pink hat shot. I just love it. Thank you so much for these, I can't wait to see the rest! We all had such a good time in the session and thoroughly enjoyed spending time with you.
(08.01.09 @ 05:20 PM)

William is growing up quickly and is a little boy and not a baby anymore. From a rocky start he has made fantastic progress and is a lovely little boy.
(07.07.09 @ 09:00 AM)The photos are brilliant. I especially love the toddle truck one as it really captures 'William'.
(07.07.09 @ 08:46 PM)love the photos, my favourite is of the three of you, proper little family!!
(07.07.09 @ 09:44 PM)

Such a peaceful image and I love how the gold from her bangle matches beautifully with the colour of the straw in this field.
(07.08.09 @ 07:42 PM)We had a great time on sat 2 weeks ago. Sukirat was great in the park and the photos are amazing. Cannot wait to see the rest.

Wow! Thanks Maria so much for yesterday and for spending the time to get some great shots of Isaac. The sneak preview looks fab. You definitely got the best of him yesterday - he hasn't slept at all this afternoon! Love, Claire & Ian xx
(06.30.09 @ 04:22 PM)

G & T, thank you guys so much for recommending Maria. We had an amazing session yesterday (08/07/09).
Can't wait to see more wonderful shots from your first session.
Maria, you are a real gem!!
So sweet and beautiful pictures. I am so proud of all of you.

Really enjoyed our day, the sneak preview pics are beautiful... Can't wait to see the rest!
Amanda, Jamie and Harrison xxxx
My first session this morning was with Joseph at Thorndon Country Park, and it was a lovely day for it. Joseph had a little run about, messed around with mummy and daddy and seemed to enjoy being out and about. I love his little hat, he looks looks so cute - like a park ranger!

Wow, I cant wait to see the rest. Thanks Maria. Hope you are feeling ok xx
(06.12.09 @ 02:15 PM)My session today was with Henry and his new baby brother Freddie. We did it in the studio rather than outdoors as mummy wanted Freddie to be involved and of course at his age we wouldn't have got much outside. The boys are lovely, but it is notoriously difficult to get a decent image of children that age together. I really like this one - Freddie looks really chilled out!

Hi Maria, the image above is the one I was discussing with you today. Depicts real strength and fragility in one amazingly striking capture. Wow!!
(07.08.09 @ 07:39 PM)

My first session was with Spencer, a rather lively little man, especially when he has his football to hand! Daddy is convinced that Spencer will play for Liverpool one day...Spencer is still thinking about it. He spent most of the morning practicing his throw ins!

Both boys did really well & I got lots of lovely images!

Hi Maria, Thanks again for a fun (but fast!) session...love the pics (esp the "conceptual shot" oo-err!!) and can't wait to see the rest :) We may have finished our Cherubs scheme but you will definitely be seeing us again as our little cherub grows up! XX
(05.06.09 @ 09:08 AM)This morning I met Esha with mummy and daddy at South Weald Country park for Esha's last beginnings session. We were greeted by the park being full of medieval tents, and the park looking rather busy! There seems to be a 3 day medieval reenactment event on, with lots of people walking around looking , well, rather medieval. Esha's response to one such an outfit was to say a rather resounding "MOO" and pointing to the person wearing it. Which was rather funny. Esha was really amusing with the little faces she pulled and I got lots of smiles. I love her little pigtails too, so cute!

I am a photgrapher who normally keeps a low profile, I am 81, still shooting pictures on film, have worked between London, Paris, Rome and New York for 59 years shooting Ballet, Fashion and advertising, have trained many people, some now famous, all I want to say is I think your work is wonderful, clever lady, keep the good work up. The first session this morning was with the lovely Elsie with mummy and daddy. She was great to photograph, and check out those eyes, gorgeous. And we had another glorious day, which is always good. I have posted an extra piccie for Elsie's preview - I love that panoramic shot. I positioned Elsie in a spot just where the light hit, and I am chuffed with the result.

That bluebell wood is amazing, the colours are beautiful - what fantastic images!
(04.25.09 @ 12:26 PM)Wow that panoramic shot is just amazing...they all are, but that one is outstanding! Elsie is so pretty...
(04.25.09 @ 02:52 PM)What lovely pictures, Elsie is beautiful,. x
(04.28.09 @ 07:40 PM)
It was a gorgeous day today - perfect for outdoor sessions. My first today was at South Weald Country Park with Jaiya & mummy and daddy. Jaiya was a trooper, especially as the grass was quite wet this morning, and happily toddled along and picked up flowers whilst chattering away. She is a serious little character but we also got a few lovely smiles, so I was happy to come away with a nice mixture of images.

Ok so a few updates - the bluebells are out , but they look a bit strange this year - at least at South Weald, where normally they look fab. Maybe it's the changeable weather? Who knows, but I was a little disappointed by how sparse they looked, but then they have only been out a few days....so I will give them a chance or perhaps try to find somewhere else. So, if you live in Essex and know of an accessible bluebell wood please drop me a line...
Yesterday I shot a session with 2 gorgeous girls - Ruby and her cousin Olivia. It was Ruby's last session so we shot on location, hoping to get some bluebell shots. But it was just too damp and quite chilly (since it was quite miserable the day before) so Ruby was not very impressed at all. I got some great shots of Olivia, who seemed to really enjoy being photographed - in fact I have been told she has decided she now wants to be a model instead of a vet! We are going to have another go with Ruby on another location, hopefully on a more pleasant day.

Hi Maria...As a hugely biased mum and auntie, these pictures are just soooo beautiful!! Am amazed how you have captured Ruby given she spent most of the session in tears!! Thank you so much for bearing with the Adams Family...xx
(04.19.09 @ 08:11 PM)What a wonderful set of photos. Can't wait to have the rest done. Am really proud of my granddaughter and so nice to have Olivia included as well.
Can't wait to see the other photos.
Fabulous pictures and so nice to see Olivia. Can't wait to see the rest. David says they are so photogenic!
(04.20.09 @ 11:09 PM)Anyway, I digress. This morning I met baby Edward with mummy and daddy. The whole family have amazing blue eyes, and Edward seems quite a bit older than his (almost) 6 months. He is a strong and rather active little boy, and I think he is going to be an early walker , most definitely. Edward was a little overwhelmed today so he much preferred having pictures taken when held by mummy or daddy - the good thing is we got some lovely family shots, and some cool Athena style poster shots. Check out the preview below!

Hi Maria, I love these shots and look forward to seeing the rest. Thank you so much for today. It was great fun. Thank you also for your patience - although you would not believe from these photos he was upset! Don't take it personally as I couldn't put him down for long when we got home either.
(04.16.09 @ 10:25 PM)
Here is a quick sneak peek at Gracie's 2nd session - I was so excited to have her be my first little model for some cute accessories that arrived from America recently . She looks so adorable and it was lovely to see her again!

Doesn't she look beautiful! Thank you so much, Maria!
(04.16.09 @ 06:47 AM)
Thank You Maria, i already love the photos! i really enjoyed the sessions. Thank you.
(04.14.09 @ 11:54 PM)Thank You Maria, i already love the photos! i really enjoyed the sessions. Thank you.
(04.14.09 @ 11:55 PM)I watched the dvds of our previous studio sessions last night and was blown away by the photos even though I have seen them many times before. I have just had a look around the website at the various different pictures which are just amazing and I can't wait for baby No. 3 to be born so we can come and have our new born session. Louise
(04.15.09 @ 12:47 PM)Check out those lovely baby blue eyes...and the cute shoes!

Gorgeous, as usual. I love the hat one! Looking forward to getting ours done, but the little lady has decided to take her time!
(04.15.09 @ 11:31 AM)I just love these photos - esp the hat one :-) We really enjoyed the shoot and can't wait to see the rest of the photos. Also looking forward to getting Isabelle involved in session 2. Thanks ever so much Maria!!
(04.16.09 @ 11:46 AM)Just had time to really sit down and study the photos Mummy & Daddy - I think the one of Jacob smiling reminds me of a picture we have of Isabelle as a little one. Now thats the first time I have seen that likeness. They are gorgeous photos tho, all of them.
(05.01.09 @ 01:52 AM)
And with mummy's permission, one of my favorites from today. I must say I would have killed for a body like that not long after childbirth ( or at any time in fact) - doesn't she look fantastic!

Enzo has just had a look at his pics and keeps shouting ''Walk the duckies!'' Definitely a memorable time for him and I'm sure Micheal will not forget having to race after him everywhere tee hee! Pics are awesome as ever - thank you Maria, all the best x
(04.01.09 @ 08:45 AM)This morning I had a session with the lovely Rosie with mummy and daddy. Rosie was really chilled out and relaxed for the start of the session. But modeling being hard work, she decided it was time for sleeps when we got to the family piccies. Thankfully by then we already had a few lovely ones, so it didn't matter at all! Those blue eyes...gorgeous.

These look beautiful Maria. Baby is so cute and mum looks stunning and fresh. Now why didn't I look that good not so long after having a baby?!!!! Hope you feel back to full health soon X
(03.31.09 @ 08:55 PM)Back to feeling a bit strange this afternoon - I think I just want the sunshine to come out!

Maria, thank you for making a very cold morning enjoyable for both Luke and I. Luke started off very shy but like usual you managed to crack a few smiles. Thank you x
(03.26.09 @ 08:49 AM)Maria, thank you for making a very cold morning enjoyable for both Luke and I. Luke started off very shy but like usual you managed to crack a few smiles. Thank you x

Hi Maria, Thank you so much for your perseverance, for making it a fun day and for making us feel really welcome in your studio. It was great that we could feed and change Lili and Lukas during the session and there was no time pressure from you to get these great photos. The photos so far look fabulous and we can't wait to see the rest. regards Jue
(03.17.09 @ 09:23 AM)Wowww.....very pretty babies......I think it's very amazing for you all.....
(04.25.09 @ 10:55 AM)So it was lovely to get back in the studio today and see Miss Lily for her second session. Lily looks like an angel - honestly - butter wouldn't melt, all ash blonde hair and bright blue eyes. Lily had a bit of a grump on today so she gave us a few little smiles but I also got a few looks that almost had me floored. Still , it was fun and here is a little glimpse of things to come!
