About Me Hi and welcome to my Blog!  Here I will post sneak previews of recent photo sessions, including newborn photos, baby photos, and some older childrens' photos. Some personal bits, my random musings and also keep you posted on what is happening in my world. I am based in in Hampshire, a lovely country location, about an hour from most parts of London. I would really love it if you took the time to leave a comment if you see something you like. Please take your time and explore, there are pages and pages of previous sessions, which include photos of some gorgeous babies, and older children. And hopefully, we will meet soon...Much love, Maria
I had a fab maternity session today with mummy-to-be Kerys. Mum came along for moral support, and we had a really lovely session. Grandma-to-be was fan blower in chief, so thank you for the help! Kerys wanted something arty and loves the warm colors, so I hope the sneak preview hits the spot. I think she looks stunning.

This morning I met a lovely couple, who are expecting their first baby in a few weeks or so. Claire set me a bit of a challenge - "I'd really like us to be able to come away with a couples shot at the end of it, where in 30 odd years time our child can look at it - and think - that's who my Mum and Dad were when they had me". For me, that type of shot needn''t be complicated - sometimes simplicity works best, and I think and hope the first shot below portrays them well - content, together & happy, looking forward to being a family. I love the shot on red - bringing sexy back into pregnancy! Claire looks fabulous, and check out those Gina shoes...

My second session today was great fun. As soon as Tahmineh & Vassilis walked in clutching a bottle of Moet ( thanks so much guys but you so shouldn't have!) , I knew we would have a fun time. What is lovely is when you are comfortable with each other, and then everything clicks into place. Both Tahmnineh and Vassilis are such warm , genuine people that I felt instantly at ease - and they were happy to be guided, and let me get to do what I do. Tahmineh is just stunning, and I am sure you will agree a dead ringer for Eva Longoria aka Gabby in Desperate Housewives. Together with Vassilis ( who I think has a bit of the George Clooney look about him), they make a handsome couple, and I photographed them for about 4 hours! We did chat a lot in between , and it was good to be able to try and do a few shots which were a little different. Funnily enough, my favorites were taken at the start of the session when the sunlight was streaming through the skylight...without further ado, here is a sneak peek.

Hope to see you guys in Paris when the baby comes long!

Fabio, Milano:

I was just exploring some photographers' websites and bumped into these really beautiful shots of two old friends! Didn't even know you were expecting! Congratulations. Hope to see you again sooner or later either in Paris or in Milan or elsewhere in the world. I'm sure my two little daughters, a girl aged 5 and a baby, 6 months, would love to meet your kid (a boy or a girl?). All the best. Fabio

It's been a funny couple of days. I had to call 2 sessions yesterday due to the not-so-nice sickness bug that has been going around. Thankfully by last night I felt better, so this morning I had my session with this handsome little man, Luke. Luke is soon to have a baby brother or sister, and mummy looked great with her neat little bump, despite being due very soon! It was pretty windy and cold this morning so initially Luke wasn't too keen ( I can't blame him, I can't say I enjoy the cold much), but things soon calmed down. After giving Luke my peek-a-boo routine and walking around with his hat perched on the tip of my head, he cheered up considerably and we got some great shots! Still looks like autumn though, doesn't it?
Back to feeling a bit strange this afternoon - I think I just want the sunshine to come out!

Maria, thank you for making a very cold morning enjoyable for both Luke and I. Luke started off very shy but like usual you managed to crack a few smiles. Thank you x

My second session today was with this wonderful couple, Cecilia & Alan. It's a beautiful thing when couples trust me, allow themselves to relax and work with me. Being given the creative freedom to deliver something special, in connection with the trust is something truly special, and I appreciate it immensely. Today was my first pregnancy shoot where we shot partly location, and I love the results. After 20 minutes and everyone feeling rather chilly, we finished the session off in the studio.  It was freezing this afternoon, so thank you so much Cecilia for going along and letting me convince you that the park is in fact, a good idea.Thank you both for trusting me to record such a special time in your life...and hope to see again soon.

And whilst we are talking bumps...look out for the new website to be launched very, very soon - dedicated to bumps and newborns only! This will be www.bumpasart.co.uk...can't wait to get it launched - just need to find the time!

Cecilia:

Hi Maria, thanks for the photos. It was a joy working with you- both Al and me really enjoyed the session and you made us felt so at ease and relaxed. The location photos came out lovely, it was worth braving the chill! The bump session is such a great way to celebrate the joy of pregnancy. We can't wait to see the rest of the photos.
